Our programs apply the principles of research (learning), development (creating), and implementation (doing) to advance sport sustainability practices and methodologies. This approach ensures our methods are both progressive yet practical, in order to achieve desired results. Our initiatives are made possible by way of a broad range of support—both from individuals, societies, agencies, corporations, and through strategies such as carbon offsetting.
Utilizing a systematic process, the EARTHsport Monitoring and Management Model (M3) is simple:
Measure. Minimize. Mitigate.
Measure: What matters is measured. A baseline scan is conducted to develop an initial situational assessment of the carbon footprint of an event, program, or organization.
Minimize: From the situational assessment, a Sustainability Strategy is developed and deployed to reduce the measured carbon footprint through the application of best-practices.
Mitigate: Even the best effort in reducing one's carbon footprint will not eliminate all carbon emissions produced. The application of offsets can be made to mitigate the remaining carbon towards carbon neutrality.
The EARTHsport M3 program is a cyclical process continually striving to improve on past results. Sustainability is a marathon—not a sprint—requiring an investment in energy, time, money, and dedication. Through the M3 program, your sport can win the race towards sustainability.
